Grey skies can be beautiful. I can think of skies in paintings by the Dutch 17th century artist Jacob Ruisdael for example. But these are beautiful because we are not subject to them all day every day for a week. That and not having to walk about under them.

The snow has gone, leaving the ground looking sodden and dingy. Spring is a long way ahead and the nights continue to be long. What are we waiting for?
Those signs gradual at first and then coming in a rush. We wait on Spring like no other season.
